Chicken Tandoori, off the clay wall
Marinated deep, roasted against clay, served still sizzling. As one Google reviewer put it — “moist, tender, and juicy… the smoky char added an irresistible depth.”
The Tandoor Chapter
Grand Darbar · Kausar Baugh, Kondhwa
One kitchen, read like a book — first the tandoor, then the handi, then the sweet. Multi-cuisine with a Mughlai heart, in the middle of Kausar Baugh.
Chapter One · The Darbar
A darbar was a court — but this one keeps its doors open to the neighbourhood. Families from Kausar Baugh and Kondhwa settle in under the brass lamps, the steel jugs go down the middle of the table, and dinner arrives the way it should: course by course, chapter by chapter.

Bottle-green woodwork, warm tungsten light, ceiling fans turning over dark wood tables. Nothing precious, nothing rushed — a room built for long family dinners, birthday tables and the Friday-night crowd that walks in without a plan and stays for dessert.
The kitchen runs on two fires: the clay tandoor and the sealed dum handi. Everything on the menu hangs off one of them.

The Tandoor Chapter
The darbar's centrepiece: a whole chicken in rich, dark gravy, eggs around it, made to be shared from the middle of the table. Order it when the whole family is in — it is not a dish for one.

How a Darbar Dinner Runs
Message on WhatsApp with your day and time, and the table is kept. Walking in works too — the darbar seats families all evening, 12 noon to 11:30 PM.
Soup first if you like, then kebabs off the clay oven while the mains are made. The 24-piece Mix Platter covers a full table of starters in one order.
Biryani comes sealed and steaming, musallam to the middle of the table — and nobody leaves without the sweet chapter: kunafa or malpua rabdi.

“We had a wonderful dining experience at Grand Darbar, Kausarbaug. The food was excellent. We tried the Mix Platter (24 pcs) and Murg Mussalam, both were flavorful and perfectly cooked. For desserts, the Kunafa and Malpua Rabdi were a great finish to the meal. The service and hospitality were equally impressive.”
“The Chicken Tandoori served was an absolute delight to the palate. The pieces were perfectly marinated, with the right balance of spices seeping deep into the meat… moist, tender, and juicy. The smoky char from the traditional tandoor added an irresistible depth, complementing the spice blend beautifully without overpowering it.”
“Visited Grand Darbar in Pune with family for a delightful lunch, and it turned out to be a memorable culinary experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, perfect for a family outing… The Murg Musallam was rich and aromatic, while the Mutton Biryani stood out with its perfectly cooked meat and fragrant rice.”
“Excellent for everything — food, service, ambience. Chicken Mumtaz as starter was awesome. The chicken was juicy, very well marinated and every bite was tasty.”
